The Norwegian Appeal Board for Health Personnel is the highest administrative appeal board that handles appeals from health personnel. It handles decisions regarding administrative sanctions handed down by the Norwegian Board of Health Supervision, for instance warnings or withdrawing of authorisations. The board is also the appeals body for certain decisions made by the Norwegian Medicines Agency pursuant to the Pharmacies Act (the Norwegian Pharmacy Appeals Board).
Thommessen lawyer Kirti Thomassen is appointed Vice President of the Norwegian Appeal Board for Health Personnel.
“The board is important both in relation to the quality of health services and the legal protection of health personnel. With her experience from this area Kirti will be a valuable contributor to the board’s work,” said lawyer and partner Kristine Schei who also has extensive experience within the pharmaceutical field.
“For many years Thommessen has been a commercial law firm which has provided advice within all areas of commercial law. It has therefore been natural for Thommessen to develop a qualified Life Sciences team,” said Managing Partner Kai Thøgersen.
The team consists of lawyers who are specialists within the fields of Intellectual property, Media and Marketing Law and EU/EEA and Competition Law and who together cultivate the expertise within this area. The lawyers in the team have both unique and practical experience within the Life Sciences segment as well as comprehensive knowledge of their respective areas of legal expertise.
